Resplendent works of art

LIGHTING IS ALSO ART

Some projects require lighting solutions that are in perfect harmony with the surroundings, without altering the designs of traditional luminaires on the one hand and, on the other, by investing in new concepts, some of them totally innovative. Together or separately, these solutions allow for the implementation of planning wishes from which both architects and designers benefit in equal measure. Lighting functions here primarily as a design element and discreetly emphasizes the architecture. It directs attention to the essential and transforms architectural features into unforgettable moments. The lighting itself, however, can also attract attention.

Extravagant and opulent luminaire creations positioned as highlights are real eye-catchers and provide observers with unforgettable moments. Precise technical skill, sophisticated light creations and a combination of high-quality materials are characteristic of these lighting works of art.

Building-centered lighting

Architectural lighting also focuses on people, aiming to emphasize buildings and other elements, enhancing the cultural and historical richness of cities and, consequently, the different communities that make them up.

This type of lighting has to be able to stand out in an impactful way without compromising the balance with the surrounding environment. In this sense, care must be taken to choose the right light for each element, as well as the effects created. Together, these factors contribute to a lighting solution adapted to the real needs of each space.

The most important aspects in a project of this type are chromatic restitution and colour temperature, the latter of which is decisive in an application of this type if the colours of the buildings to be lit are to be respected.

CCT - Correlated Colour Temperature (Tcp)

The colour temperature of the light used is one of the key factors when you want to highlight any architectural element. Indeed, it is necessary to respect the actual colours of the walls and the various existing coverings in order to preserve their identity.

To do this, it is necessary to ensure the best possible colour match, usually with warmer tones in historic buildings. In the case of modern and avant-garde buildings, other types of materials are used, with an emphasis on cooler colours.

CRI - Colour Rendering Index (Ra)

Colour rendering is not one of the predominant factors in the design of a lighting solution designed to make buildings and other types of architectural elements stand out. However, it does play an important role, especially when colour is one of the fundamental aspects involved. The higher the value, the better the colour match.

Ideally, this value would be 100 in order to replicate natural light as much as possible. However, the best technical and economic compromise is to use solutions with a value above 80. In some cases and for very technically demanding applications, this value can exceed 90 or even 95.

Our solutions

Lighting solutions and services are provided for architectural buildings—both historic and contemporary—with a strong focus on aesthetic enhancement and seamless integration with the existing architecture.

The lighting systems are conceived to accentuate the distinctive features of each structure, creating environments that are both harmonious and visually striking. For historic buildings, the solutions are designed to respect and preserve the original character, highlighting their beauty in a subtle and elegant manner. For modern architecture, innovative concepts are developed to complement contemporary design, producing impactful and sophisticated visual effects.

By combining advanced technology with artistic sensitivity, these lighting approaches elevate architectural expression and significantly enhance the building’s overall visual appeal.
